Dear Melissa, Liss, you were like a granddaughter to me and I was very honoured when you asked me many years ago if you could call me granddad. I watched and admired you as you grew into an intelligent and lovely young woman, with a ready and brilliant smile, a loving and caring manner, and a willingness to have pally chats with me over a range of sometimes challenging subjects.
